Gerrish McCreary Smith Consultants and Attorneys is a national leader in assisting community banks, thrifts, credit unions, and their respective holding companies in a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, going private transactions, stock and mutual holding company formations, credit union to bank conversions, and Subchapter S reorganizations as well as capital raising through common stock private placements and the issuance of trust preferred securities. On the consulting side, many of the firm’s directors facilitate strategic planning retreats for Boards of Directors and executive officers as well as prepare financial models to assist Boards and executive management with strategic decision making.

The firm’s attorneys and consultants are experienced in assisting investor groups and community bank clients in organizing new banks, offering bank regulatory guidance and examination preparation, and assisting troubled or problem banks in negotiating, contesting, and complying with regulatory enforcement actions. In addition, the firm offers advice and guidance to community bank clients regarding executive compensation and employee benefit plans.
